The Keys to Workplace Success
Navigating the business world can be a tricky proposition. Often, it's not the hard skills but the soft skills that bog employees down.
This half-day workshop covers all of the critical issues that millennials face including working with the different generations in the workplace, managing bosses, and giving and receiving feedback. The entire program is hands-on and engaging with a slew of individual and group exercises.
The program kicks off with an enlightening perspective on the four generations - Millennials, Xers, Boomers, and Traditionalists. Frustrations often stem from the lack of understanding amongst the generations in the workplace. In this program, Brad Karsh compares the expectations of millennials to the framework of their managers, older generations, and the business world. Millennials tend to think in terms of entitlement, equality, explanation, and partnership while managers often think in terms of duty, hierarchy, action, and ownership. To help bridge this gap, Brad explains the driving forces, perspectives, and communication styles of each generation. Millennials grasp an understanding and awareness of how they are perceived and how they can adjust their style to move forward with professionalism and success.
Brad also covers managing a boss and delivering and receiving feedback. These soft skills are essential to any positive, working relationship, and participants can incorporate these lessons immediately into their everyday business communications. All exercises allow attendees to gain tangible skills and insights that help them succeed in the workplace and on diverse teams.
